We couldn't not dedicate a room of our hotel to our beloved Nemea. According to mythology, Flias, son of the god Dionysus, founded the city Fliasia (5th century BC), where vineyards were first cultivated as a gift from the god to his mortal son. It was here that the famous Fliasios Oenos (the wine made in the area of Nemea) was made for the first time, also supplied to the symposiums of the Mycenaeans and the Argives.
Later, Fliasia became Nemea. It was named after Naiad Nymph Nemea, daughter of the mythical river Asopos that crosses the plains and irrigates our famous vineyards. It is mythologically connected with the first labour of Hercules who strangled the Nemean lion with his bare hands. Legend has it that, as they struggled, the beast scratched him with its claws on his shoulder and his blood stained some grapes next to him, giving them the red color that characterizes them to this day.
Our Nemeia room is accessible to people with disability, and is configured to meet all requirements.
